Reports from the road…
UPDATE Estimated Time of Arrival – 6pm Tonight.
They are approx 60mi from COOS
ALL IS WELL! EVERYONE IS FINE! – Mr. Walsh reports that there was bad weather Monday evening. The storm was a big one so the camp put everyone inside the Program Center Building. A few of our scouts got wet sleeping bags that were taken into town for drying. Good thing our leadership has experience (tropical storm at Woodruff four years ago) and BSA Severe Weather training.
Other than weather excitement, camp is going well. Food is the same as last year so everyone is well fed. We will give additional updates again later in the week.
You can send your scout a message by clicking here.
And keep up with weather conditions by clicking here.
SATURDAY DEPARTURE Be at COOS by 6:30a. Departure is scheduled for 7a.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR TRIP Your packed lunch and a modest amount of snack money. Save approximately $10 for your return-trip lunch.
SUMMER CAMP PACKING There were two Summer Camp Packing lists on the Downloads Page. These lists were recently updated and replaced with a single, comprehensive list. You can find the list on the Downloads Page or click here to download now.
MEDICAL FORMS & MEDICATIONS These are REQUIRED prior to departure for camp. If Mr. Walsh does not have your form or you do not give it to him on Saturday, you can not go to camp. Medications MUST be in their original pharmacy-labeled packaging.
SUMMER CAMP PAYMENT The second payment was due last week. The third and final payment is due now.
MEDICAL FORM Scouts and adults MUST have the new Annual Medical Form completed and signed by a doctor BEFORE Summer Camp. No form, no camp for you!
YOUTH PROTECTION ALL adult volunteers MUST complete the new Youth Protection Training. All BSA training can be found at MyScouting.org.
Since Youth Protection is now required prior to becoming an adult volunteer, you no longer need a troop ID card before creating a login to complete your training. So, sign-up, login and get your training completed.
