Youth Leaders
Troop 110 is a boy-run troop and operates by the Patrol Method. The Patrol Leader’s Council (PLC), with oversight from the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters and Troop Committee; plan and implement the troop’s activities. This includes our weekly troop meetings, camping trips, annual summer camp and special events.
An outline of our youth leadership positions can be found in the
Troop 110 Scout Leadership Positions Guide.
Adult Leaders
All of our adult leaders are trained in Scouting policies, training skills and safety. Our training is kept up-to-date in numerous areas including: Climb On Safely, CPR, Hazardous Weather, Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Youth Protection and more. All training meets or exceeds the BSA requirements for individual positions and for our outings.
Additionally, our Scoutmaster completed Wood Badge training in 2008.
Parent Involvement
Troop 110 enjoys strong parental involvement. In addition to our adult leadership and Troop Committee positions, we have many parents who utilize their real-life experience and become merit badge counselors or who help with special projects. No matter how big or small, the success of Troop 110 is dependent upon every parent taking an active role.
Troop Committee
The committee meets numerous times a year to discuss ongoing troop issues and to ensure the troop’s safety and success.
Scout Training
Our troop presents an annual Troop Leader Training and Planning Conference for all current and potential youth leaders. In addition, we provide an opportunity for the scouts to participate in the North Florida Council’s annual training conference – The University of Scouting.
