We Stay Busy
Our youth leaders plan various activities and destinations each year. Some activities planned for 2009 include: kayaking, canoeing, camping at Kennedy Space Center; visiting and sleeping on the USS Alabama; camping at Fort Clinch; camping at and witnessing the Battle of Olustee; camping and hiking part of the Appalachian Trail.

On these camping trips we cook as patrols. Our troop has a wide range of equipment including tents, stoves, lanterns, etc.

Summer Camp
Each year in June or July we attend a week-long summer camp in North Georgia or North Carolina.  This allows the scouts to experience a change of scenery and enjoy a cooler climate during the summer.

Recent Summer Camps
2009 & 10 – Raven Knob, Mt. Airy, North Carolina
2007 & 08 – Woodruff Scout Reservation, Blairsville, Georgia
2006 – Camp Daniel Boone, Canton, North Carolina

The scouts begin planning for next year’s Summer Camp as soon as we return from Summer Camp each year.

Fundraising
Troop 110 has several fundraising opportunities throughout the year – with the sale of poinsettias each year during the holiday season being the largest. The funds are used to help offset the costs of monthly campouts, troop equipment and summer camp. Participation in these events helps keep the troop going financially.

In 2008 our successful fundraising campaign enabled us to acquire a brand new troop trailer.

We are always in need of funding for supplies, equipment and travel expenses. If you care to make a tax-deductible donation to Troop 110 please contact our Fundraising Chairperson.
